Why you should try a non-foaming cleanser

Why you should try a non-foaming cleanser

For those of us with sensitive skin, finding the right skincare products can be daunting. Many products that are designed to cleanse our skin can actually be too harsh or irritating, leading to redness, dryness, and breakouts.

One type of skincare product that’s often recommended for sensitive skin is a non-foaming cleanser. Non-foaming cleansers are typically gentler and free from abrasive ingredients.

Here are two reasons why you should try a non-foaming cleanser:

Non-foaming cleansers are less drying

Bar soap, gel cleansers and foam cleansers can be drying to the skin, especially if they contain sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) or other drying ingredients. These ingredients help achieve a squeaky clean feeling, but can also strip your skin of its natural oils and moisturizing factors.

On the other hand, non-foaming cleansers are typically formulated without these ingredients. For example, our Cleansing Oil is formulated with moisturizing ingredients, like argan oil and castor oil, to help keep your skin soft and nourished. And our Humble Powder Cleanser is formulated with soothing ingredients, including green tea, chamomile and honey. Plus, the powder is finer than other natural skincare cleansing grains.

Non-foaming cleansers are less likely to cause irritation

Sensitive skin can be prone to irritation, and using a foaming cleanser can make things worse. Non-foaming cleansers are generally free from irritants like sulfates, parabens, alcohol, and artificial fragrances, making them less likely to cause irritation.

If you have sensitive skin and are looking for a cleanser that is gentle and effective, consider trying our Cleansing Oil and Humble Powder Cleanser. We recommend using them together as part of a double cleanse, but they’re also effective on their own!
